Dual Enrollment at Crafton Hills College
Attention Sophomores and Juniors: Are you interested in getting a jumpstart on your college credit-earning? If so, sign up to take a FREE class this summer as part of the Dual Enrollment Partnership between RUSD and Crafton Hills College. Three courses will be offered this summer - Student Success and the College Experience, Fire Protection Organization, and Beginning Acting - and all courses will be held at Citrus Valley High School, following the RUSD summer school day. All three courses will earn students college credit and all are UC, CSU, and CC transferable, and there is absolutely no cost to students since RUSD is covering all charges. Students will need to attend the Dual Enrollment Application Meeting on Wednesday, April 12th from 3:00-5:00 PM at CVHS in the library in order to begin the registration process for these courses. Please refer to the school and/or RUSD website for more information.
Going Out of State with Instate Tuition
Want to go out of state to college but afraid you can't afford it? Check out the participating colleges and universities participating in the Western Undergraduate Exchange (WUE). Through the WUE, students in Western states may enroll in participating two-year and four-year public college programs at a reduced tuition level. Jump Start your College Career with Classes on High School Campuses
This semester, Crafton Hills College is offering a series of classes on the Redlands High School, Redlands East Valley High School and Citrus Valley High School campuses. Classes begin January 25 and run through June 6, 2016. Current 11th and 12th graders with a 2.5 or better are eligible to enroll in classes at any of these campuses. Classes and textbooks are free to current qualifying high school students. Click below to find out more about the program and to pre-register.

Pre-enrollment Forms need to be completed and returned to your counselor as soon as possible. Enrollment is on a first come, first serve basis. Don't get left out by waiting until the last minute!
Scholarships for Study Abroad
The U.S. Department of State recently announced scholarships for American high school students to study abroad. Applications are now being accepted. These Merit-based scholarships include international airfare, tuition, and program costs, as well as meals and living accommodations (often with a host family). State Department programs have no language prerequisites, and gap year students are encouraged to apply as long as they meet the age requirements.

HEART Academy wins the Golden Bell Award
Congratulations to the students and staff members of the HEART Academy for winning the 2014 Golden Bell Award. The CSBA Golden Bell Awards, now in its 35th year, promotes excellence in education by recognizing outstanding programs and governance practices of school boards in school districts and county offices of education throughout California. This awards program highlights best practices in education in all areas of operations, instruction and support service. Redlands High School is proud to be among the few schools in the State with a program honored with this award.
